Ubeda is a charming city and constitutes one of the first exceptional examples of architecture and town planning of the Renaissance period in Spain at the beginning of XVI century. The Moslem past is very visible, which is rather rare in the area.
Built at 757 m altitude, Ubeda overhangs since centuries, as a sentinel, a vast landscape of hills covered by the plantations of olive-trees.
Its rich monumental and cultural heritage makes it a place of great tourist interest. In 1955, it is a classified artistic historical city. Then, in 1975, the Council of Europe proclaims it an exemplary city of the Renaissance and in 2003 the city is classified as world heritage by UNSECO.
Places to discover: the plaza Vazquez de Molina, la sacra Capilla del Salvador, the palace of the counts de Guadiana, the church Santa Maria, the church San Pablo and the walls.
To organize your stay in Andalusia, in Ubeda, we invite you to consult the official site tourism of the city where you will find all practical and essential information for your visit.
